AGO Film Processor (with Paterson PTP115 Tank)

Automated film processor / time compensation in rotary mode / two-reel Paterson tank included

The AGO Film Processor turns a Paterson Super System 4 tank into an automated processor. It was the first processor to use time compensation instead of temperature regulation: you warm the chemistry yourself, and AGO adjusts the development time as the temperature drifts. This complete set from Vintage Visual of Estonia includes the two-reel PTP115 tank and reels, so black and white, C-41, E-6, ECN-2 and RA-4 processing can start with the very first roll.

Overview

In the box: the AGO processor, a Paterson Super System 4 PTP115 tank (two 35mm rolls or one 120 roll), two Paterson reels, tank lid, the pre-modified AGO funnel, rear stand, Paterson agitation stick, USB-C charging cable and quick start guide, plus access to the video tutorials and support. Lay the machine horizontally for rotary agitation, which uses up to 60% less chemistry than traditional vertical or inversion agitation methods, or stand it vertically to drive the agitation stick for chemistry that does not tolerate continuous agitation. Automatic time compensation runs in rotary mode only: in vertical mode the temperature probe does not sit in the liquid, so compensation is switched off. Pre-loaded programs cover B&W (General; Cinestill DF96), C-41 (Bellini; Kodak; Fuji Hunt; Tetenal; Flic Film; Cinestill; Arista, Unicolor; Adox; Jobo), E-6 (Arista; Cinestill D6; Jobo, Ilfocolor; Adox), ECN-2 (Cinestill; Jobo, Bellini; Flic Film; Jobo, Ilfocolor) and RA-4 (Arista), and the Wi-Fi browser interface adds custom programs, new chemistry profiles and firmware updates. The funnel supplied here is already modified; if you later add another Paterson tank, its own funnel needs three holes drilled in the side, and Vintage Visual supplies a drilling template with every processor as well as selling pre-modified funnels. The PTP115 takes 350 ml per step. Sheet film needs a larger Paterson tank plus the matching Vintage Visual REEL, sold separately: PTP116 or larger for 4x5 and 9x12 cm, PTP117 or larger for 5x7 and 8x10, and RA-4 paper up to 12x16 in (30x40 cm) with the REEL Paper 8. Neo Analog Lab is an authorised Vintage Visual retailer in Japan, with a 24-month warranty from the date of purchase from us.

Common questions

Questions about this product

How do you hold 38°C for C-41 development at home?

C-41 runs near 38°C. You either hold the temperature with a water bath, or let a processor compensate with time.

Read the answer →

What is the AGO Film Processor, and how can it work without controlling temperature?

AGO turns a Paterson tank into an automatic processor. Instead of holding temperature, it adjusts development time to match the drift.

Does the AGO work with a Paterson tank I already own?

Yes — every Paterson Super System 4 tank fits, but the funnel needs three holes drilled in its side.
