Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 5 Developing Tank (AGO-Modified Funnel)

Five-reel tank / AGO-modified three-hole funnel / reels not included

The Paterson Super System 4 Multi-Reel 5 tank, supplied with the AGO-modified three-hole funnel so that it runs on the AGO Film Processor without any drilling on your side. It takes up to five 35mm films or three 120/220 films, and it is the smallest Paterson tank that accepts the REEL 5x7 and REEL Paper 5 — the natural step up for anyone moving from roll film into sheet film and RA-4 print processing.

Overview

In the box are the Paterson Super System 4 tank with its watertight EVA cap, the AGO-modified three-hole funnel, the agitation rod and the lid. The five-reel tank ships without reels, so please order Paterson Auto-Load reels or Vintage Visual REELs separately to suit the formats you shoot. On Paterson reels it handles 35mm, 120, 220 and 127; 110 needs the Vintage Visual REEL 110, and with the matching REELs the tank also takes 4x5 and 9x12cm, 5x7 sheet film and 8x10 RA-4 paper. Minimum chemistry volumes with the AGO are 650ml for roll film, 500ml for 4x5 and 9x12cm, 350ml for 5x7 and 250ml for Paper 5. The AGO can drive this tank in rotary (horizontal) mode, which uses up to 60% less chemistry than traditional vertical or inversion agitation methods, and in vertical stick mode for chemistry that does not tolerate continuous agitation; please note that the AGO's time compensation is active in rotary mode only, because in vertical mode the temperature probe does not sit in the liquid. The funnel is drilled to the AGO pattern before it ships, so no template work is needed on your side.

Common questions

Questions about this product

Are enlarger lens boards and negative carriers interchangeable?

No — they are specific to the enlarger maker and model. Check the compatibility notes in each product's specifications, or contact us with your enlarger model before ordering.

How do I choose a darkroom timer?

For enlarging, second-precision exposure control matters most. For film and print processing, a timer that can step through multiple stages is the practical choice.
