Paterson Super System 4 Developing Tank 1-Reel (AGO-Ready)

35mm developing tank / 1 roll / AGO-modified funnel included

A Paterson Super System 4 tank for a single 35mm film, supplied by Vintage Visual with the funnel already modified for the AGO Film Processor. It works just as well for ordinary hand inversion, so it is an easy starting point for developing one roll at a time.

Overview

In the box: the Super System 4 tank body, the watertight EVA cap, one Paterson Auto-Load reel, the centre column, the agitation rod, and the one-piece lid and funnel. The funnel is the AGO version, with three holes in the side for the processor to introduce chemistry, and it stays fully light-tight — so the tank can also be used for ordinary hand inversion with no further modification. It takes one 35mm film: 250ml of chemistry with the AGO Film Processor's rotary agitation, or 300ml for hand inversion, as Paterson specifies. 110 film can also be processed in this tank with the Vintage Visual REEL 110, sold separately. The tank does not accept 120 or 220 — for those, or to process more than one roll at a time, choose the PTP115 or a larger tank. One point worth knowing if you develop with AGO: its time compensation, which adjusts development time as the chemistry temperature drifts, is active only in rotary (horizontal) mode. In vertical stick agitation the temperature probe does not sit in the liquid, so compensation is switched off. The AGO Film Processor itself is sold separately.

Common questions

Questions about this product

Are enlarger lens boards and negative carriers interchangeable?

No — they are specific to the enlarger maker and model. Check the compatibility notes in each product's specifications, or contact us with your enlarger model before ordering.

How do I choose a darkroom timer?

For enlarging, second-precision exposure control matters most. For film and print processing, a timer that can step through multiple stages is the practical choice.
