Adjustable developing reel / 35mm・127・120・220 / for Super System 4 tanks

The standard Paterson auto-load reel for Super System 4 developing tanks. One reel takes one roll of 35mm, 127, 120 or 220, so it is the spare you add when you develop several rolls in one session.

Overview

This is one auto-load reel only — no tank, lid or funnel is included. The two halves twist apart in opposite directions to set the width, so a single reel covers 35mm, 127, 120 and 220, one roll at a time. The twin ball-bearing ratchet walks the film onto the spiral, with no threading by feel. Vintage Visual notes that the 1-reel and 2-reel tanks include an auto-load reel, while the 3-, 5- and 8-reel tanks (PTP116 / PTP117 / PTP118) ship without reels, so order as many reels as the number of rolls you intend to run. With an AGO Film Processor the reel is used exactly as it is in hand-inversion developing, in both vertical stick agitation and horizontal rotary modes; the AGO works with every Paterson Super System 4 tank, 1 to 8 rolls depending on the tank. Please note that the AGO's time compensation runs in rotary (horizontal) mode only — with stick agitation the temperature probe does not sit in the liquid, so compensation is switched off.

Common questions

Questions about this product

Are enlarger lens boards and negative carriers interchangeable?

No — they are specific to the enlarger maker and model. Check the compatibility notes in each product's specifications, or contact us with your enlarger model before ordering.

How do I choose a darkroom timer?

For enlarging, second-precision exposure control matters most. For film and print processing, a timer that can step through multiple stages is the practical choice.
