Overview

The pack contains one REEL 9x12cm, moulded in chemical-resistant PETG. It needs a Paterson PTP116 (3-reel) tank or larger and will not fit the 1-reel or 2-reel tanks; a PTP118 (8-reel) tank takes two reels, for eight sheets in one run. Loading is straightforward in the dark, and the design holds each sheet securely for even development without undeveloped edges. It handles black & white, C-41 and E-6, and works with staining developers. The 9x12 cm and 4x5 inch formats use different reels, so 4x5 inch sheet film needs the separate REEL 4x5. In an AGO you can run either horizontal rotary or vertical stick agitation, but time compensation is active in rotary mode only: in stick mode the temperature probe does not sit in the chemistry, so compensation is switched off. With rotary agitation, the minimum chemistry volumes are 350 ml in a PTP116, 500 ml in a PTP117 and 750 ml in a PTP118.

Common questions

Questions about this product

Are enlarger lens boards and negative carriers interchangeable?

No — they are specific to the enlarger maker and model. Check the compatibility notes in each product's specifications, or contact us with your enlarger model before ordering.

How do I choose a darkroom timer?

For enlarging, second-precision exposure control matters most. For film and print processing, a timer that can step through multiple stages is the practical choice.
