Overview

Moulded in chemical-resistant PETG, the reel holds four 4x5 sheets securely for even development. Load it in complete darkness, then process with the tank lid on in daylight, exactly as you would with roll film. It requires a Paterson Super System 4 three-reel tank (PTP116) or larger and does not fit the one- or two-reel tanks; an eight-reel PTP118 takes two reels for up to eight sheets in a single run. Agitation is your choice — hand inversion, rotary, or the AGO Film Processor. On the AGO you can run rotary agitation or stick agitation, but the AGO's time compensation is active in rotary mode only, so choose rotary when you want the machine to adjust development time as the chemistry temperature drifts. The PETG is safe with staining developers such as PMK Pyro. Supplied as one reel only: tank, funnel and processor are sold separately. Running a Paterson tank on an AGO also calls for a funnel with three holes drilled in its side — Vintage Visual includes a drilling template with every processor and sells ready-modified funnels as well.

Common questions

Questions about this product

Are enlarger lens boards and negative carriers interchangeable?

No — they are specific to the enlarger maker and model. Check the compatibility notes in each product's specifications, or contact us with your enlarger model before ordering.

How do I choose a darkroom timer?

For enlarging, second-precision exposure control matters most. For film and print processing, a timer that can step through multiple stages is the practical choice.
